MEET THE TEAM
JANE WILLIAMS
Jane trained originally at Mountview Theatre School in London and has an MA in Performing Arts. She has performed in the West End and most significant theatres in the UK. Recognised as a Specialist Leader in the Performing Arts, she has established and been the Artistic Director of numerous Youth Theatres.
Since arriving in Doha in 2013, Jane has established Mockingbird Academy in 2015 and has also formed links with LAMDA and is one of two recognised centres in Qatar for LAMDA examinations. Jane played Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables in the 2014 Doha Players production and has choreographed the QBBF Poppy Ball performances in 2016, 2017 and 2019.
LUCY BALFOUR
Lucy, a leading dancer, trained at the International Ballet Academy in Christchurch before spending ten years with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. Career highlights include touring internationally with world-renowned dance company Rambert and starring in performances including Javier De Frutos' Milagros and Banderillero; Jorma Elo's, Plan To A; David Dawson's, A Million Kisses To My Skin; Queen of the Willis in Ethan Stiefel; and Johan Kobborg's Giselle.
